Description
PE10 Athlete allows students to work through all the learning outcomes of PE10, but with the added bonus of enriched lessons on Sports Nutrition, Team Dynamics, Sport Psychology, Physiology and Current Issues in Sport & Society.
This course supports athletes from all sports ranging from swimming, hockey, dance to equestrian. With the student-athlete in mind, the course will enhance one’s current sport experience. The teacher will help students to develop tools to grow in their own sport and to connect their own experiences in sport to other fields.
PE10 Athlete, like all SIDES courses, offer a flexible pace and structure. It runs through 18 weeks of sport activity alongside engaging lessons and assignments. Three staggered fitness tests will help students track progress and set goals throughout the course.
The course is also ideal for those students who wish to focus ahead on post-secondary recreation and health related fields. The ultimate goal of PE10 Athlete is to enhance the quality of life through active living for today and the years to come.
