Description
PLEASE NOTE:
With the development and implementation of the new curriculum, we will be closing Communications 11 effective June 28th, 2019. The last day to register for this course is November 15th, 2018. This means that you will need to complete the Orientation Course by December 17th, 2018. Once you have gained access to the remainder of the course, you will have until June 15, 2019 to finish the course. This includes all course material and exams. There will not be any extensions granted.
Communications 11 online is a dynamic, alternative course in English that meets the needs of students who might find it difficult to succeed in English 11 and English 12. Its high-interest lessons focus on honing practical communication skills. In this course students will complete a range of reading, writing, speaking and listening activities that will engage, challenge and build confidence in spoken and written communication.

Student-paced - for those who wish to take responsibility for establishing their own timelines or who need to have maximum flexibility in terms of course work in order to accommodate other activities in their lives.
Summary
There will be a variety of written assignments including paragraphs, editorials, emails and one essay. Students will also be asked to write and record a speech.
Students will write a mid-term exam after completing the first two units and a final exam at the end of the course.
