Social Studies 11

Description

In order to graduate, students in BC need one social studies course at the grade 11 or 12 level. Social Studies 11 is no longer a required course for graduation.

At SIDES, we have designed all our grade 12 social studies courses so that a student can be successful in them without taking Social Studies 11 first.

This means that you can focus in on particular areas of interest, including Contemporary Indigenous Studies, Law, History, and Social Justice. It also means that you will graduate with an extra grade 12 credit.

At SIDES we offer the following courses:
Social Justice 12
Law Studies 12
World History 12
Contemporary Indigenous Studies 12*
*Contemporary Indigenous Studies can be used to fulfil your requirement for a 4-credit Indigenous-focused Graduation Credit.

We encourage you to complete one or more of these social studies courses as you work towards graduation.
